The Pros and Cons of Chiropractic Treatment

To help a patient get a spinal adjustment done, the chiropractor will talk with the patient about the diagnosis and make a recommendation. Usually, there is a range of opinions among the patient and the chiropractor. They will then discuss ways to best get the spine to a more normal alignment.

There is one point of controversy that I will mention that is due to spinal adjustments that cause too much pain or numbness. People who don’t know enough about chiropractic feel that because the patient complains of discomfort, the chiropractor should administer more spinal adjustments. However, the patients would only complain if there were no real problems.

During a spinal adjustment, your body has been fully educated about how it is being treated. It’s not used to the adjustments. Chiropractors have become very good at learning how the body responds to different kinds of adjustments so there is no lasting discomfort.

Even though spinal adjustments are commonly used, many people would rather see a doctor. This is fine because they can be a great way to heal problems. They can also help you with other types of ailments.

Chiropractic isn’t like every other method of healing. Chiropractors are just as capable of doing surgery as doctors are, and they do the same thing. It may be very relaxing to get an adjustment but in the long run, it is going to hurt you.

The only problem I have with chiropractic is that it isn’t proven to be 100% effective. The jury is still out on the effectiveness of chiropractic. However, I have seen excellent results from it for myself and my patients.
